It happens all too often. A young, seemingly healthy child suddenly drops dead from cardiac arrest. A tragedy that sends shock waves through the school, their families and the community.
All of these kids had pre-participation physical exams - but those exams did not detect their heart conditions.
Heart Care Monitoring is offering a high school athletic association required physical exam along with electrocardiogram and if needed, a focused echocardiogram screening, which can detect heart conditions such as Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) and other common heart conditions.
Schools can sign up to have the Heart Safe Screening done right on their campuses so students who are required to have pre-participation physicals can receive them conveniently. The exam is open to all students, whether or not they participate in sports, because SCA and SCD can strike anyone at any time.
The Heart Safe Screening is:
-
An exam that screens for HCM and other heart conditions according to the American Heart Association and International Olympic Committee guidelines.
-
A 10-15 minute enhanced physical, non-invasive electrocardiogram, and if necessary, a focused echocardiogram using a portable ultrasound device. Results are read by board certified pediatric cardiologists.
-
Affordable - Our exam is about the price of most basic physicals and hundreds less than hospital procedures.
-
Portable and convenient- We come to your school or organization, no school or organization personnel are required for registration, set up, the exam or results reporting.
